Digital.
You can imagine me as a kind of Bits n’ Mortar craftswoman - passionate to blend the digital with the physical. I started my digital transformation journey – not in a garage but – in my flowered wallpaper kid’s room in a working class neighborhood in Zurich@Switzerland, with an out of the blue opportunity in the form of a clunky computer, DOS, some floppies, some screwdrivers, and the powerful curiosity of a 10 year old girl (yes, mini me)

Diverse.
Swiss by inheritance. Italian by blood. Fused Greek by marriage. International by choice. Coach and mentor by heart. Challenging the status-quo by design – as woman in computer science, academic from a non-academic working class family, single parent kid in the ‘80s –. Partner, daughter, cat mom, godmother, veg-foodie, coffeenista, archery novice, researcher, former yoga teacher and passenger handling agent etc.

Cappuccino.
Well, who does not celebrate a buonissimo cappuccino? For me with oat, pea or almond milk, foamed, topped with cacao shavings, extra hot, thanks! To stay? Yes, when I seek inspiration in front of my laptop. To go? Absolutely, when I stroll through the city. Cappuccini are also very social - they support deep conversations and might enhance coffee ground reading. In combination with an ameretto cookie I enjoy them as “cappurettie”

The Idea.
The Digital Swirl was born from a collection of my mind threads that originally were loosely coupled around the increasing desire (or felt need) to shed light on Digital Transformation in March 2019.
It will explore and clarify the context of Digital Transformation through the lens of change (what already exists) and innovation (creating new opportunity from emerging tech like Blockchain technology and AI).
My vision has been to do so in a playful and creative professional way:
The Digital Swirl
The Spark.
You may know it. That one situation too many. In this case it was a situation about some lack of understanding when it comes to Digital Transformation: a situation that I have increasingly been experiencing between parties and an issue I have been discussing with peers, friends and colleagues for quite some time. And here it was, that situation too many, the ultimate spark that set the idea for the Digital Swirl in motion.
The Kitchen.
Being on different pages when it comes to Digital Transformation may actually lead to new ideas and opportunities. However, when people act without understanding the different facets of Digital Transformation that are relevant to a specific context it can feel like letting a small kid have a field day in a well equipped kitchen:
You might get a five star meal but chances are high you will end with a mess to clean up and some left over chocolate in the corner instead
The difference is, you may laugh with the kid either way.
Grow it.
To help contributing to leveraging the potential of Digital Transformation I started implementing the idea of the Digital Swirl with this Web site in August 2021 and went live with it in October 2021.
